Create a Template
Start from a pre-built design or a blank template, choose Final or Draft order type, and set currency behavior.
Overview
Create your first Pixi template in minutes. You’ll pick an order type, choose a design, and configure basics like default usage and currency.
Open Templates and Create
- Open the Pixi Order Printer app in your Shopify admin.
- In the sidebar, click Templates.
- Click Create Template.

Choose Order Type
Templates are tied to the order type they’re used with.
- Final Order — for paid/fulfilled orders.
- Draft Order — for draft invoices or payment requests.
Select the appropriate option at the top of the create screen.

Pick a Design
Browse the gallery and select a template to start with. You can:
- Use any Invoice, Packing Slip, Return Form, or other document layout.
- Search by name or category.
- (Optional) Use Migrate from other apps or Import template if you already have a design elsewhere.
Configure Basics
After selecting a design, you’ll land in the editor. Set the essentials:
Title and Status
- Title: Name the template so your team can find it easily.
- Status: Keep it Active to make it available when printing or emailing.
Default Usage
- Enable as a default for printing
- Web: Preselect this template for browser printing.
- POS: Preselect for Shopify POS.
Template Currency
Choose which currency to display amounts in:
- Shop currency — your store’s base currency.
- Customer currency — the currency used at checkout for that order.
Use this when you need localized documents for international customers.
Preview with Real Orders
Use the order selector in the editor to preview with real data:
- Pick an example order from the dropdown.
- Confirm totals, taxes, and address blocks look correct.
- Adjust spacing, fonts, and sections as needed.
Tips
- Test with an order that includes discounts, taxes, and line item properties.
- Save regularly while making changes.
Save and Test Printing
- Click Save in the editor.
- Open any order in Shopify.
- Go to Print → Pixi and select your template.
