Customer Currency
Choose whether your invoices display amounts in your shop’s currency or your customer’s local currency.
Overview
Pixi lets you issue invoices and documents in multiple currencies. This ensures customers see totals in the currency they paid with, while you can still keep internal templates in your shop’s base currency.
How It Works
Each template in Pixi can display amounts in either:
- Shop currency — your store’s base currency (set in Shopify).
- Customer currency — the currency used by the customer at checkout.
This setting is chosen per template, so you can decide which documents use which currency.

Set Template Currency
- Open the Pixi app in your Shopify admin.
- Go to Templates and select the template you want to edit.
- In the editor page, find Template Currency in the sidebar.
- Choose between:
- Shop currency for consistent store-level reporting.
- Customer currency for customer-facing documents.
- Click Save.
Best Practices
- Use Customer currency for invoices and receipts sent to customers—this avoids confusion when they see different totals.
- Use Shop currency for internal templates like packing slips or accounting copies.
- If you sell in multiple markets, consider maintaining separate templates with different currency settings.
Next Steps
Once you’ve set the currency:
- Test with an order in a foreign currency.
- Preview the template to confirm correct totals and formatting.
- Move on to advanced customization like Liquid formatting for currencies in the Advanced Guides.
